It all began in Pune when a 22-year-old Engineering drop-out realized that truly custom furniture was neither affordable nor easily available. Frustrated by pre-made sofas that never quite fit homes or hearts, he dropped out of regular job in 2018 and joined forces with fellow engineers, interior designers, and architects. What started as a weekend experiment soon grew into Comfy Couch, a homegrown furniture studio with a simple promise: “Sofas That Hug You Back.”
Driven by the belief that comfort should never come at a premium, Comfy Couch was built to offer fully personalized sofas at genuine factory-direct prices. Every piece is crafted to reflect your space, your story, and your style, because Pune deserves furniture that feels made just for you.
Tanzeel Shaikh
Founder & Creative Head, Comfy Couch
Tanzeel Yasin Shaikh, 27, is the beating heart of Comfy Couch, a young visionary who turned his junoon into purpose. A proper Punekar by heart, he cleared Electronic Engineering from AISSMS College of Engineering, Pune but dropped out, realizing corporate life could not contain his creativity. He was told he would incur losses by offering custom sofas at factory prices, but he was not in it for money. Determined, he said, “I need my name and fame will follow.”
He brought together a team of engineers, interior designers, architects, and artisans to create furniture Pune had never seen before. With a काम स्वतः करायचं attitude and स्थानिक कारागीरांचा कौशल्य, he built a brand rooted in honesty, quality, and comfort. In just five years, Tanzeel transformed Comfy Couch from a small Undri workshop into Pune’s most trusted name for custom furniture. Today he still sketches designs, perfects details, and meets customers, proving that comfort is crafted with heart.
